John J. Diel Jr. is the Vice-President and a member of the founding Board of Directors of GICS. He has over 20 years experience working with exotic and domestic animals. Mr. Diel started working with ornamental game birds at a young age, which preceded him working as a Volunteer and an Attendant at Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle, WA. During his tenure at Woodland Park Zoo, Mr. Diel worked in the waterfowl exhibits and assisted with the rearing of captive offspring. Mr. Diel has many years experience working with Psittacines, Anatidaes and many Softbill species. After leaving Woodland Park Mr. Diel began working for local city and County government. In 1999, Mr. Diel returned to the Animal Control field. He served as President on the Animal Control Officer’s Guild Executive Board from 2008-2010 and as the 2nd Vice-President and Lead Negotiator from 1999-2008. In 2005, Mr. Diel graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor in Business Management. Mr. Diel is currently enrolled in Concord Law School where he is a candidate for graduation in 2012 with an Executive Juris Doctor degree. |
